The Oklahoma City Thunder set a new NBA record by outscoring teams by 12.9 points per game this season on their way to a 68-14 record.

The previous record was held by the Lakers, who outscored opponents by 12.3 points during the 1971-72 season.

The Thunder outscored opponents by 1,055 points in total.

"We've got a young team and I think it's important for them to understand some of the things we've accomplished," Mark Daigneault said. "Franchise record for wins is a great accomplishment. Some of the other things we've accomplished together are great accomplishments. We don't take them lightly."

The Thunder are the top seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

Really time to see if this converts to a postseason point differential. They beat all comers, the good teams and the bad, and while it will decrease, it still seems likely that they end with the highest in the playoffs too.
