Suns To Work With Kevin Durant, Rich Kleiman On Trade In Offseason

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Apr 14, 2025 7:03 pm

The Phoenix Suns are expected to work with Kevin Durant and Rich Klieman on a trade this offseason, reports ESPN's Shams Charania. Multiple teams are expected to pursue Durant. Charania previously reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets are among the teams with expected interest in Durant. At the deadline, the Suns discussed a trade of Durant to the Golden State Warriors, which caught him off-guard.

Durant will be eligible for a two-year, $120 million extension this coming offseason. Durant is on an expiring contract and will be have at least some modicum of control over the process. The Suns acquired Durant at the 2023 trade deadline shortly after Mat Ishbia assumed ownership of the franchise.

Durant finished the season with averages of 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists. Durant will turn 37 in September.

In today’s NBA no one is paying Durant that money. He will have to fit himself into someone less cap situation.

i doubt it. Durant is one of this generations goats, wether you like it or not. someones gonna pay him, he still produces all star numbers and can easily be the 2nd or 3rd best guy on a very good team. he is just not the leader, that you guys think he should be.

i just hope the knicks stay out of this, i dont wanna have to trade for KD.
im bout dat action boss

If Houston flames out here in the 1st round to say Golden State -- it's possible they make a rash choice
