Rockets Considered 'Less Likely' To Pursue Trade For Kevin Durant

The Houston Rockets are now considered even "less likely" to pursue a trade for Kevin Durant this offseason than what was previously thought, sources tell Marc Stein and Jake Fischer.
The Phoenix Suns will work Kevin Durant on a trade this offseason and plan to "pivot and reload" around Devin Booker.
The Rockets own a number of future draft picks originating from the Suns following their trade in June 2024 with the Brooklyn Nets. Houston won 52 games this season and enter the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
If the Rockets were to make a significant trade for a star, the conventional wisdom has been that they will target a player who more closely matches the age of their young core.

No I think if Rockets threw in a pair of mint gums the Suns might consider it. But what a disaster. Didn't even make the play in. SMH

Why would they give up on Jalen green for KD?

They might pull off some three team deal involving Zion Williamson

Undervaluing Jalen Green. And why would the Rockets want to do this for a 36-year-old, injury-prone player?

They wouldn't, just a bunch of arm chair GMs making conversation.

If Jalen green can be the best player in the warriors series in a single game, then maybe the rockets should ask for more. If not or if the rockets lose the series then they might need an adult offensive player to get there.
