Jason Kidd 'Resented' Front Office For Being Tasked With Remaking Roster Built For Luka Doncic

Jason Kidd harbored resentment toward the Dallas Mavericks front office regarding their midseason trade of Luka Doncic, despite sharing some of the same frustrations with the star player that led to the move, according to multiple team and league sources speaking to DLLS Sports.

Kidd was reportedly frustrated not only by the team's injury crisis but also by being tasked with reinventing a roster that had been specifically constructed around Doncic.

Kidd's midseason exasperation reached a breaking point in February when he notably skipped a league-mandated post-game press conference.

The organizational dynamic is complicated by the fact that Dallas hired Kidd as head coach before settling on Nico Harrison to lead the front office, creating a potential disconnect in their working relationship. Harrison has publicly acknowledged that he didn't involve Kidd in trade discussions regarding Doncic until the deal was essentially finalized.

Despite the reported tension, Harrison has maintained that he and Kidd share similar values when it comes to the team suggesting an attempt to project organizational alignment.
