Jon Horst and the Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to a multi-year contract extension. Horst's agent, Brian Elfus, reached agreement with the Bucks on the deal this week.

Horst had also been linked with the Phoenix Suns this week. During the 2024 offseason, Horst was pursued by the Detroit Pistons.

Horst took over the Bucks' front office in 2017.

So is he the one who's going to start the rebuild this offseason once Giannis asks out? Cause if that was not the primary discussion and target during the negotiations, then the Bucks' owners are either blind or incompetent, or both. Actually, resigning him to a massive extensions does imply both, because this guy has been quite bad at his job.

Draft picks - nothing worth mentioning (the most "notable" is DiVincenzo, who was traded shortly after). Winning record in the regular season, but only 45-36 in the postseason (pretty bad when you have Giannis, and for big portions Middleton and Jrue). Trades - pretty much all of them are abysmal, except for Jrue Holiday, who he then gifted to Boston in pursuit of a washed Dame - so yeah, abysmal. Free agents signings - not too bad, but nothing spectacular either - some filler/role players mostly. Coaches hiring/management - fired J Kidd, hired then fired coach Bud (bad decision), then hired Griffin (bad decision) and fired him immediately (even worse decision), then hired Doc friggin Rivers of all people - insanely bad decision.

Overall - this guy sucks big time. A competent FO would have had 2 championships at minimum from Giannis, and probably 4-5 ECFs, during a span when the East is pretty weak.

Yeah, I thought I misread the title at first. They're about to be eliminated from the first round again with Giannis playing out of his mind because the team around him is so bad. Not surprised to read that the Suns were supposedly interested in him, as Ishbia is probably even worse as owner than the Bucks ownership group.

They want him to be there for the tank.

Damian's contract is one of the worst in the league and you extend your gm. Giannsis should demand a trade and let the rebuild begin.

Horst did what he did to keep Gianni's happy and to get him to re-sign.

How far do you go to appease your franchise player?
