Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has become the betting favorite to win the 2025 WNBA Most Valuable Player award at +200 odds, according to ESPN BET. The 23-year-old second-year player has overtaken three-time MVP A'ja Wilson (+235) despite opening at longer odds (+300).
Clark's rise to the top of the odds board is largely driven by overwhelming betting support. Multiple sportsbooks report at least 50% of MVP tickets backing Clark, with ESPN BET revealing that 77.7% of its MVP handle supports the former Iowa Hawkeyes standout.
Sportsbooks Adjust To Clark's Betting Popularity
DraftKings sportsbook director Johnny Avello acknowledged Clark's unique betting appeal in comments to ESPN.
"The thing about Clark is that she just draws a lot of money no matter what [odds] we put her up at," Avello told ESPN. "She's not some big underdog, her odds are low, so I don't think we're going to get hurt too bad [if she ends up winning]."
Indiana's offseason acquisitions of DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard are expected to strengthen the team's standing. Caesars Sportsbook pro basketball lead David Lieberman noted this could bolster Clark's MVP case, as the Fever are projected to be a top-three team.
Bueckers Leads Rookie Of The Year Market
No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers is the clear favorite for Rookie of the Year at -225 odds. The Dallas Wings rookie faces competition from Seattle Storm's Dominique Malonga (+450), who has attracted significant betting interest with 70.9% of the handle at ESPN BET. Clark won Rookie of the Year last season.
The preseason MVP favorite has won the award each season since 2022, according to ESPN Research. Clark would have the second-shortest preseason MVP odds over that span, behind only Wilson's +100 odds last year.
