Mitch Johnson Expected To Be Named Head Coach Of Spurs

With Gregg Popovich stepping down as head coach of the San Antonio Spurs, there is a "strong expectation" that Mitch Johnson will be named as his full-time replacement, reports Marc Stein.
Johnson has been an assistant coach with the Spurs for several years and was elevated to interim head coach in November following Popovich's stroke.
Johnson, who played collegiately at Stanford, has a strong reputation in coaching circles and interviewed for the head coaching job with the Toronto Raptors in 2023.
