Jayson Tatum suffered a right leg injury late in the fourth quarter of Monday night's 121-113 loss by the Boston Celtics to the New York Knicks in Game 4. Tatum was carried off the court with 2:58 remaining, unable to put weight on his right leg.

The injury occurred while Tatum was pursuing a loose ball and became entangled with Knicks forward OG Anunoby. Tatum immediately grabbed the back of his right ankle area, visibly in significant pain and unable to stand.

Team officials helped Tatum to his feet during a timeout after Anunoby scored on the subsequent possession. The Celtics' medical staff assisted him to the locker room as he put no weight on his injured leg.

Before exiting, Tatum had scored 42 points on 16-for-28 shooting. The Celtics now trail 3-1 in the Eastern Conference Semifinal series. The Celtics had built a 14-point lead before New York mounted their second-half comeback.

Became entangled? WTF??? That's some nice Boston spin on what really happened. Tatum was going down well before OG got near him.

Whatever Tatum did, he did it to himself, all by himself.

Ok, first, prayers for a speedy recovery for Jayson Tatum. Second, it was a freak injury, with no one near him, he stepped back and his foot buckled, it looked like an ankle injury but they think he might have popped his ACL. There was no entanglement though. Please be respectful of the Knicks and stop with the biased language.

Who wrote this, Jada Pinkett? There was no entanglement, JT stepped and he went down.

Hope he recovers quickly and fully.

Looks like an achilles injury based on how he went down.

If it was an achilles tear could be career altering, if not career ending, so let us hope that it is not that. Any injury though, even minor, will only make it harder for the Celtics to dig themselves out of an 3-1 hole.

Looks like the Knicks are moving onto the next round.

This was very clearly a non contact injury, which was one of the reasons everyone knew this was big trouble within seconds. Im not sure where the "entangled" narrative is coming from but its verifiably false so, I think this article should be amended.

Having said all that, obviously heart breaking to see. I hate the celtics but Tatum is awesome and by all accounts a good dude. I'm sure he will come back eventually and continue playing at a super star level, but who knows how long recovery will take. Wishing him all the best.

It's a good idea to actually WATCH what happened prior to writing drivel about it.
