Television ratings for the first two rounds of the NBA playoffs are up three percent compared to the same point in 2024. This year's playoffs are the second-most-watched playoffs through the first two rounds since 2014, trailing only the 2023 postseason.

The most-watched game of the playoffs so far is Game 4 of the Minnesota Timberwolves-Los Angeles Lakers first-round series, which drew 7.35 million viewers on ABC.

Meanwhile, the Knicks are back in the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in 25 years, which means the No. 1 U.S. media market, New York, should drive strong ratings for their series against the Pacers.

Great playoffs this year! Unpredictable, youth taking over, and most importantly TEAM BASKETBALL taking over. You need to have a well-built and well-rounded roster, you need to have good coaching, strategy and tactics, and you need to have a gameplan and a system. You can't rely on iso-ball and superstars chucking shots, while everyone else stands in the corner and watches. The parity is also at an all-time great and balanced level - doesn't matter if you are a big or small market team - you have as much of a chance as anyone else.
Not a huge fan of Silver, but I think we should give credit to the NBA FO for this.

Well said. These playoffs have been great! Good ball movement and good to see the young players take out these old heads who keep crying and wanting to be traded.

So the Lakers first round series carried the ratings for the first two rounds of the playoffs?
