Masai Ujiri Out As Raptors Front Office Executive

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jun 27, 2025 1:16 pm

The Toronto Raptors and president Masai Ujiri have agreed to part ways. Ujiri had one season left on his contract with the Raptors.

Ujiri took over the front office in Toronto before the 2013-14 season. In 12 seasons, he helped lead the Raptors to nine playoff berths. That includes winning the 2019 NBA Finals after swinging a big trade for Kawhi Leonard.

The Raptors have missed the postseason the last two years. They haven't appeared in the playoffs since 2022 and overall have missed out on the playoffs in four of the last five years.

Missing the playoffs isn't why. Rogers fully owns MLSE now and Ed Rogers doesn't like Masai cause he's a trash nepo baby and his father is probably rolling in his grave. **** Rogers.

I mean no disrespect for what Masai has done for our franchise but I think the writing was on the wall that his heart hasn't been in it for awhile now. You can ignore it all you want and we're not the Kings or Pelicans but at this point we're a fringe bottom-5 run team and CMB's 'f***' reflects that more than anything about Toronto. I'm just tired of selling myself that there's direction in the way we've been "building".

Our draft the last two nights had given me promise I will say CMB and Alijah to an extent are the type of players I'd be targeting as we try and get back to high level contention but now I'm wondering if he was out even before then.

I'll go more extreme...(puts tinfoil hat on), Masai and Bobby have been, with a few exceptions, ostracized by the other 29 teams. Like no one's willing to deal with them anymore. Every other GM hates them.

But what now? With this team/country's pre-masai history...like are we gonna get another Rob Babcock here?

its been a nice ride. these **** idiots just fired the best basketball mind this city has ever had. this man did the impossible and brought us a championship in a league where everything is stacked against us. this is not only the end of an era, it may very well be the end of feeling like the raptors knew something other didnt. i wish i could feel assured that there will be bright days ahead but look at what they idiots are doing with the jays, shapiro/atkins couldnt be any more terrible at their jobs and they were both extended. this isnt about how well the job is done, its personal. **** rogers from the bottom of my heart

Huh? We just got Brandon Ingram last season. It was a good trade.

They do if they quit. Likely, as I doubt the Raptors would boot him with only 1 year left.

Roger’s is an idiot. He likes Corporate Old White males that stick their faces up his arse.

First the Jays get rid of Alex A, then Kyle Dubas and now Masai wtf….?

If they quit, something upset them. Quitting isn't an amicable situation.
