Julius Randle and the Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to a three-year contract worth $100 million. Randle will opt out for next season in order to sign the new deal with Minnesota. The contract will carry a player option for the 2027-28 season.
Randle was acquired by the Wolves ahead of last season in the trade that sent Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks.
In 60 games with Minnesota, the veteran forward averaged 18.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. Randle upped his production to 21.7 points on 50% shooting in the playoffs, as the Timberwolves made it back to the Western Conference.

Feels like an overpay. How old is he? I guess the 'threat' would have been that he opts out and signs with someone else. But realistically, who would have signed him for $33M/yr?
His agent deserves a raise.
I guess the new owners couldn't let the team backslide, like they would have without Randle.

How often do 3x All-Stars come on the market while they are in their prime? Randle was an All-Star in three of the past five seasons. He's only 30yo and just signed for around 20% of the cap. He would have had multiple teams wanting to get him in a S&T at that number.

Lol any article I click about someone signing a contract and there's someone saying they're overpaid. It's mind boggling

You want me to do your work for you? Make your own list.

Randle would be somewhere near the end of my top 50 NBA players and he won't be in the top 50 highest payed players. The contract is about right for the player he is. He would have had options if he played the FA game. So you begin your list with teams that have a need at PF.
