Giannis Antetokounmpo Reportedly Unhappy With Bucks' Decision To Part Ways With Damian Lillard

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jul 1, 2025 3:50 pm

Giannis Antetokounmpo is not pleased with the Milwaukee Bucks' decision to waive-and-stretch Damian Lillard, sources tell Chris Haynes. The Bucks had to use the maneuver in order to execute their free agent signing of Myles Turner on a four-year, $107 million deal.

The Bucks acquired Lillard during the 2023 offseason to pair with Antetokounmpo.

This is theater, how else did Giannis think they were gonna get Myles? The taxpayer MLE would have been a huge paycut, a sign and trade deal would have hard capped them and they would have needed to shed salary anyway.

I can imagine the Bucks' fanbase will be frustrated with him when he quietly requests a trade through "sources", but the writing has been on the wall. They're up a creek without a paddle.
