Jock Landale, Grizzlies Agree To Deal

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jul 5, 2025 9:34 pm

Jock Landale and the Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a contract. Landale recently cleared waivers after being let go by the Houston Rockets.

Memphis is trading Jay Huff to the Indiana Pacers, in a deal to create cap space to renegotiate-and-extend Jaren Jackson Jr. That left the Grizzlies shorthanded in the frontcourt as both Jackson and Zach Edey will enter training camp coming off offseason surgeries. Jackson had surgery for turf toe and Edey had surgery on a troublesome ankle.

Landale averaged 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game for the Rockets last season.

Please someone explain this to me form the Grizzlies side. They just let go their backup center for basically nothing, only to replace him with an imo clearly inferior player.

Kleiman is the master when it comes to downgrading the Grizzlies' roster. However this is just replacing a 3rd string center with another 3rd string center.
