The Golden State Warriors have interest in signing De'Anthony Melton. The Warriors signed Melton during the 2024 offseason to a one-year, $12.8 million deal. Melton was the only free agent last offseason to sign for the full midlevel exception.

Melton was traded to the Brooklyn Nets or Dennis Schroder after his ACL surgery.

Melton averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 37.1 percent on three-pointers over six games with the Warriors before his injury.

The Los Angeles Lakers have also expressed interest in Melton, who is represented by Joe Smith, Thaddeus Foucher and Aaron Klevan.

Golden State also continues to have interest in eventually signing Al Horford, while they have now additionally been linked with Bradley Beal.

He fit in perfectly with them last season when they started off 9-2 and then everything went down hill fast once he got injured. His hustle and defense was really good and he can shoot. They really do need a big though especially with Looney gone...

This is no surprise at all. It was unfortunate to see him go down with the season ending injury, although prior to that he was receiving loads of praise from coach Kerr. Melton is the kind of selfless player that can fit in anywhere he plays. The Warriors still have five open roster spots, and Melton would be a huge add at this point of free agency where Golden State has been mute so far.

Golden State has been having a bit of habit the past few years putting small guards next to steph. Let it continue I guess.
