Bradley Beal Agrees To Buyout With Suns, Set To Sign Two-Year, $11M Deal With Clippers

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Jul 16, 2025 5:34 pm

Bradley Beal has agreed to a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns and will sign with the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-year, $11 million deal.

Beal had two years and $110.8 million remaining on his deal with the Suns. Beal had to give back at least $13.8 million in a buyout to stretch his salary.

It's sick when a guy forfeits more money than most would ever see over multiple lifetimes, only to basically make it right back in another deal.

On paper they are the best team in the league. As long as kawhi can stay healthy for the playoffs I can see them beating okc

IMO the Cavs, Rockets and OKC will still be better this season. If Beal with Booker and Durant on the Suns was little more than play in trash I cannot see how Beal makes that much difference with Kawhi and Harden.

Booker Beal and Durant are all the same player, kawhi beal and harden are all different with roles that compliment each other. Also the clippers are wayy deeper then the suns were, collins zubach boggy Lopez are all better players then anyone the suns had outside of the big 3

Basketball fit is how. All 3 were iso scorers. These guys completely different skill sets. This will be a scary team when healthy.

No offense but they are very different players, unlike beal/Durant/Booker who are very similar just different heights.

He had $110.8 million remaining on his contract with the Suns. He agreed to give up $13.8 million of that. So the Suns will pay him the remaining $97 million over the course of 5 years. He then signed an $11 million deal with the Clippers... which does not quite equal the $13.8 million he gave up... so he's effectively forfeiting $2.8 million.

Losing $2.8 million would be a massive disaster for most people, but something tells me ol' Brad will be just fine.

Beal wasn't the problem. Lack of a playmaker was the problem. Harden is still one of the best playmakers in the NBA.

And it might be a 1+1 which would allow him to opt out next season and resign for more.

Lol, dude, what are you on?! A backcourt of Beal and Harden is the worst imaginable defense you can have. 3 washed ultra injury-prone divas, surrounded by mediocre guys... Where have we seen this, what could possibly go wrong...

They also have Kris Dunn, who they can have lock up guards. But with kawhi, batum, DJJ, Lopez and zubac roaming around they don’t have a bad defensive team. Also kawhi harden and Beal aren’t really washed up… good point tho the defense might be the difference maker in them getting past okc or Houston

So their "depth" is Kris Bumm and 73 year old hardly-able-to-move-anymore Brook Lopez, and literally NO ONE ELSE, and you're saying they are a good team?! :D
