Suns, Wolves Discussed Rudy Gobert, Donte DiVinenzo, Terrence Shannon, No. 17 For Kevin Durant

The Phoenix Suns had interest in a trade of Kevin Durant to the Minnesota Timberwolves that would have included Rudy Gobert, Donte DiVincenzo, Terrence Shannon Jr. and the No. 17 pick in the draft, sources tell ESPN. If the Suns made that trade instead of the one they executed with the Houston Rockets, they would have tried to keep Bradley Beal.

Trade talks were described as being in-depth, but Durant did not have the Wolves on his short list of preferred teams and that led to the deal falling apart.

Gobert signed a three-year, $110 million extension last October that reduced his salary for the 2025-26 season in exchange for more years. DiVincenzo is under contract for two more seasons.

The Wolves giving up a really good Center, a scrappy guy off the bench and a very good young player for a player who is almost 40? Man, I’m glad that didn’t happen.

Almost 40 with 0 drops in his usage and presentage. Almost 40 with 27 points per game last season and the best jumpshot in the history of the nba.
