The Phoenix Suns have expressed "exploratory interest" in a sign-and-trade to acquire Jonathan Kuminga, sources tell Jake Fischer. The Suns were linked with Kuminga during their Kevin Durant trade discussions with the Golden State Warriors ahead of the deadline.

The Suns are not considered likely to have the type of assets in the form of players or draft capital that the Warriors would seek to participate in a sign-and-trade.

Aaron Turner, Kuminga's agent, has held multiple discussions with the Warriors as he seeks at least $25 million per season.

The Warriors are reluctant to offer Kuminga a contract that high and are seeking at least a first round pick in any sign-and-trade.

The Sacramento Kings have shown the most interest in Kuminga amongst rival teams. The Chicago Bulls are a team Kuminga has targeted, but they are also navigating their own restricted free agent in Josh Giddey.

The Suns are not considered likely to have the type of assets in the form of players or draft capital? Suns just got a bunch of assets by trading KD. How do they not have it if they really want Kuminga.

They could include a package with Jalen Green (Sign & Trade) Suns do not need Jalen Green and Book.

Suns just got a bunch of assets by trading KD. How do they proceed if have it if they really want Kuminga. The variables are how do the Suns management want to proceed with Devon Booker and what type of players will compliment his playing skills. The Suns are in a partial rebuild. Does Kuminga check all the boxes skillset, mental abilities, understand how to win, and to be a complimentary piece to Devon Booker. They could include a package with Jalen Green (Sign & Trade) Suns do not need Jalen Green and Book. This plan is a very good except. The one good piece that is missing? The playmaker who fits in with this group of players and does the intangible things to promote a winning culture? Jalen Green is a ball dominant player that does not display much on playing without the ball and does not compliment Devon Booker. He would be an exchangeable piece. The big question is who fits with Devon Booker in the backcourt (1), next can Kuminga play alongside Mark Williams & Kamuach Maluach, Rasheed Flemming and Dillon Brooks and will Grayson Allen take more responsibility to handle the ball? Anfernee Simons could be a solution. Booker, Simons, Allen and Brooks a good combination of defense, offense, playmaking and continuity. The missing pieces are the Boston Celtics & Simons; what do the Celtics get out of this trade and the paradox is Al Horford going to Golden State. Does Jalen Green fit with Golden State/then a deal with New Orleans could be factor. Horford acquisition has stalled due to salary cap restrictions with Golden State. A three-way or four-way trade, players cash and draft capitol are going to determine how this deal will get done. Final analysis: JALEN GREEN FOR JONATHAN KUMINGA
