Kings Considered Team Most Likely To Sign Russell Westbrook

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Aug 11, 2025 7:21 pm

The Sacramento Kings are considered the most likely team to sign Russell Westbrook this offseason, sources tell Tim MacMahon. Westbrook spent last season with the Denver Nuggets and had stretches of productivity with the club, but they decided to move on with Bruce Brown Jr. as his replacement.

If Westbrook signs with the Kings, he will be on his sixth team in seven seasons. Westbrook declined his player option to become a free agent this offseason. In 75 games with the Nuggets last season, Westbrook averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 27.9 minutes.

Westbrook would serve in a bench role with the Kings backing up Dennis Schroder. The Kings' roster is in flux following their trade last season of De'Aaron Fox.

Lol, they can't just be such fools, can they?! The one and only team who has absolutely no need of Russ as they already have 12 non-shooters, non-spacers, no-IQ, no shot creation players on their roster... The Kings are hilarious, complete buffoonery

I think he was talking about Monk, but hopefully they want to trade LaVine as well.

Sabonis, Derozen, and Westbrook on the court at the same time... can't wait to see that.

Let's not get it twisted... Fox can't shoot either. I'd take Russ on the min over Fox on the max, all day long. (I'd prefer neither.)

Agreed
Fox is overpaid.
Additionally, the teams that sign Westbrook almost always make the playoffs if he's healthy.

I think Monk is just most easily tradable
