Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic was injured during Slovenia's EuroBasket leadup game against Latvia on Saturday. A teammate fell into Doncic's legs and knocked him to the floor during the third quarter of the game. The Slovenia star was favoring his right leg after the play. Doncic limped to the locker room but appears to have avoided serious injury.

The Lakers star was spotted sitting on the bench with his teammates later in the second half. According to Slovenian media, Doncic asked to go back into the game, but the team chose to be cautious with their star player.

Doncic recently signed a three-year extension worth a projected $160.8 million. That deal will see Doncic under contract through 2028-29, with a player option for the 2028-29 season.

which League? this is preparation for international competition representing his country. this is what many players proudly do. this year its the european championship (you Know, the thing where the Champion can claim itself european Champion) and next year we have the World championship (you Know, the thing where the Champion can claim itself World Champion).

This has been one of his issues. When I was still a Mavs fan Luka was playing too much international ball every offseason instead of getting right for the next season. He was never fully healthy all of last season and this is not a good sign for this season. People seriously exaggerate his fitness issues because of this too
