Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is continuing to progress in his recovery from a torn Achilles' tendon. Tatum recently released video of him playing 1-on-1 against Celtics assistant coach Tony Dobbins. Tatum also posted a caption that read "Soon" with a fingers-crossed emoji.
While Tatum's recovery has been remarkable, there are several milestones he'll need to hit before Boston will consider letting him play. The Celtics superstar has said for months that he intends to play this season. The team and Tatum have both also stressed that he won't return until he's 100% cleared from the injury. Neither side will rush his return to the court.
However, Tatum playing this season now falls somewhere on the scale between possible and likely. With the Celtics playing better than expected, Tatum could return to a team that is poised to make a playoff run. Where Boston sits in the standings won't drive that decision though. Only Tatum's health and recovery will dictate when he suits up next for the Celtics.
