Rockets Sign Tristen Newton To Two-Way Contract; Waive Tyler Smith

The Houston Rockets signed Tristen Newton to a two-way deal on Saturday, reported Jake Fischer of The People's Insider.
The 24-year-old was averaging 26.8 points and 7.7 assists for the Iowa Wolves in the G League.
Newton will be eligible to appear in 29 games as a two-way player.
The Rockets waived Tyler Smith to make room for Newton.
