is connely a moron? he's basically outing ANT as far as Randle goes. he's saying publically that Ant's "input" is "invaluable" and when he says "don't trade this guy" - the FO listens, thus it's easy to infer and read between the lines that that wasn't the case with Randle.
why go to the media and talk about it openly? that's just dumb and disrespectful

I can also see this as something down the line if Edwards does request a trade the team via the media will leak stories of how the team was close to trading for_________ or ___________ using Edwards as the scapegoat for why the trades did not happen.

Uhh.. that's not how I read it. He's basically saying he's telling Ant that in order for them to get better they need to trade players he likes. Ant doesn't want his teammates to get traded because he's a nice dude, which he is but he's also giving him a reality check. It's an open and honest discussion. That's how I read it. His message is: Ant is solid and defends his teammates but as the management they have to make tough decisions and make sure Ant understands why they're doing what they're doing.
