Second baseman Jonathan India and the Cincinnati Reds agreed Friday to a two-year, $8.8 million contract, avoiding an arbitration hearing next week for the 2021 NL Rookie of the Year.
India gets $3.8 million this year and $5 million in 2025. The deal contains $2.05 million in additional escalators plus award bonuses.
