Boston Red Sox right-hander Garrett Whitlock told reporters Saturday that he will miss the remainder of the season and undergo an elbow procedure.
Whitlock, 27, is set to undergo an internal brace procedure that has a one-year recovery time as opposed to the potential 15-month recovery time from Tommy John surgery. He had a Tommy John procedure done in 2019 when he was a minor leaguer in the New York Yankees\' system.
