The Miami Marlins have designated Avisail Garcia for assignment.
Garcia signed a four-year, $53 million contract with the club before the 2022 season. He will still be owed what\'s left on his contract through the completion of the deal.
That means the Marlins will owe him what\'s left on his $12 million salary this season, his $12 million salary for next year, and a $5 million buyout on the club option the team held on his services for 2026.
Across parts of three seasons, Garcia hit just .217/.260/.322 with 13 home runs and six stolen bases in 153 games.
