Multiple rival general managers expect the New York Mets to trade Pete Alonso before the deadline, according to a report.
Alonso will be a free agent this offseason after reportedly declining a $158 million extension offer last summer.
David Stearns made it clear throughout the offseason that while the Mets had no interest in trading Alonso over the winter, they didn\'t anticipate reopening extension negotiations before he hit free agency.
