The Cleveland Guardians have agreed to a Major League contract with Matthew Boyd, according to multiple reports.
The deal is contingent on Boyd, 33, passing a physical. He underwent elbow surgery last year.
Cleveland has a healthy lead in the American League Central, but has some questions within the starting rotation.
Boyd went 5-5 with a 5.45 ERA in 15 starts last season before he was shut down to have surgery two days after his last start.
