Willson Contreras will miss three weeks after suffering a broken finger when he was hit by a pitch last week.
Despite that, the St. Louis Cardinals remain hopeful the catcher will return to the lineup at full strength before the end of the season.
Contreras is in his second season with the Cardinals after playing the first seven seasons with the Chicago Cubs. He missed six weeks earlier this season after fracturing his left forearm in a game on May 7.
