Shohei Ohtani played in Game 3 of the World Series on Monday night despite suffering a partially dislocated shoulder in Game 2 just two days prior.
Following the Los Angeles Dodgers\' Game 3 win at Yankee Stadium, Ohtani said that he expects to avoid surgery.
\"I haven\'t had further conversations about the future plan,\" he said through an interpreter. \"I think it\'s something that\'s going to happen after the season is over, do additional testing. But in terms of how I feel now, I don\'t think so.\"
Ohtani got on base Monday by leading off the game with a four-pitch walk and then stayed on the base clutching his arm to his chest.
After the game, he said he was \"holding on to myself when I was running ... to make sure that I wouldn\'t use that same shoulder arm if I were to slide.\"
