The Pittsburgh Pirates have hired Matt Hague as their hitting coach.
Hague replaces Andy Haines, who was fired after the Pirates finished in the bottom 10 in the major leagues in every significant statistical category last season.
Pittsburgh drafted Hague back in 2008.
The 39-year-old spent last season as an assistant hitting coach with the Toronto Blue Jays.
