The New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs have discussed a possible Cody Bellinger trade, according to a report.
The Cubs are looking to move Bellinger after acquiring Kyle Tucker in a trade with the Houston Astros.
The Yankees, meanwhile, are looking to add a left-handed hitting outfielder after losing Juan Soto in free agency.
Bellinger exercised his $27.5 million player option for the 2025 season rather than hit free agency. He also has a $25 million player option for 2026 with a $5 million buyout.
The report states that the current snag in talks between the Yankees and Cubs is money. The Cubs would presumably cover a portion of Bellinger\'s 2025 salary in any deal.
