The St. Louis Cardinals headed into the offseason ready to deal Nolan Arenado, but he remains on the roster.
A deal was believed to be in place to send Arenado to the Houston Astros, but the third baseman vetoed the trade. Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak admitted during a radio appearance last week that things were \"quiet\" on the trade front.
According to a report, \"multiple league sources indicate the [Boston] Red Sox represent Arenado\'s last chance to get dealt before the 2025 season.\"
Arenado will be 34 next season. He\'s owed $74 million for the next three seasons, though the Colorado Rockies are still taking care of $10 million of that.
