Pete Alonso is moving closer to a free agency resolution with the Toronto Blue Jays engaged in talks. The New York Mets remain interested in re-signing Alonso, but want a resolution as they are also in talks with other players if they are unable to keep him.
There is also a third unidentified team interested in Alonso.
If Alonso signs with the Jays, they would still prefer to keep Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who could play third base. Guerrero and Alonso could also split time at designated hitter.
