Jurickson Profar and the Atlanta Braves agreed on a three-year, $42 million deal. Profar hit .280/.380/.459 with a career-high 24 home runs and 85 RBIs last season with the San Diego Padres on a one-year, $1 million deal. Profar had a breakout season after previously being considered the top prospect in baseball.
The switch-hitting Profar can slot almost anywhere in the lineup, though he figures to begin the season toward the top as Ronald Acuna continues to rehab his knee.
Profar has spent all 11 years of his major league career in the West divisions, debuting at 19 with the Texas Rangers. Profar joined the Oakland A\'s in 2019 before settling with the Padres.
