The Los Angeles Angels have tried a number of things to get Josh Hamilton going at the plate. On Saturday, Mike Scioscia sat his outfielder.
Scioscia hoped that it would "clear some cobwebs out."
"I think he just needs to exhale a little bit," the manager said. "Maybe just take that step backwards to get to his goal of swinging the bat the way he can quicker."
Hamilton is hitting .208/.252/.292 with two home runs and nine RBI this season.
