Kevin Gausman was hit hard in his first two starts with the Orioles, but looked better in his home debut against the Tigers on Sunday.
Gausman allowed a single run over six innings as Baltimore rallied late to top Detroit. The rookie did not figure into the decision.
"I felt comfortable today," he said. "I thought today was the most polished and most calm since I've been up here. Obviously, it was fun and I made my debut here today so that was something I'll never forget."
Through three starts (15 innings), Gausman has a 7.20 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and nine strikeouts against three walks. He has allowed five home runs.
