Yu Darvish has been placed on the disabled list, but the Rangers are hopeful about his health after an exam went well.
The exam didn't even lead to an MRI. Darvish has a right trapezius strain and is eligible to come off the DL on July 22.
"[This was] consistent with Darvish [thought] that it was, probably a little bit of arm fatigue," assistant GM Thad Levine said. "He's going to come back to Detroit [where the Rangers play next], start back on his throwing programs with the expectation to get back on the rotation coming out of the break. It was as good a news as we could have gotten."
