The Red Sox have an elite prospect in shortstop Xander Bogaerts and the belief is that he is knocking on the door of the Major Leagues.
If Boston doesn't have room for him at his natural position, they believe he has the aptitude to move to third base or the outfield eventually if that's the only route available.
Bogaerts played third base for the Netherlands at the World Baseball Classic.
"I really think I'm good at shortstop right now, so that's what I'm focusing on," he said. "But I don't have a problem with [moving]. I can pitch. I'll even catch."
