The Yankees, who have an increasing need for an everyday bat, have Alfonso Soriano on their radar.
Soriano has $25 million in outstanding salary commitments, which makes him certain to clear waivers if the Cubs want to swing a trade in August.
"We'll see what happens," said Soriano, who has full no-trade rights and said he's open to considering any team that's "less than five games" out.
