David Ortiz says his recent comments about Ryan Dempster hitting Alex Rodriguez created unnecessary drama and that the teammates aren't at odds over the issue.
"I don't give a flying f--- what anybody thinks," Ortiz said. "I don't care who hits who and who doesn't."
Ortiz said earlier this week that he objected to Dempster hitting Rodriguez on purpose last Sunday night. The New York Yankees rallied to beat the Boston Red Sox after the incident.
The designated hitter reiterated his objection to Dempster's throwing at Rodriguez was because "it kind of woke them up."
Ortiz said he had not spoken with Dempster since Thursday's story in USA TODAY Sports.
