The New York Yankees placed Derek Jeter on the disabled list Wednesday, effectively ending a season in which he played just 17 games because of injuries.
Some have speculated whether Jeter might retire given doubts that he can be productive next season at age 40.
"I have not watched his last game," Brian Cashman said. "No one has."
"He's a warrior," Randy Levine added. "He's one guy I wouldn't count out."
There have been no strong indicators that Jeter is leaning towards retirement, based mainly on the fact that he doesn't want his career to end this way.
