The Los Angeles Dodgers are not afraid to spend in the international market and are expected to pursue Masahiro Tanaka.
Tanaka was 24-0 with a 1.27 ERA during the regular season for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles in the Japanese Pacific League.
The Dodgers have been unusually open in their interest in signing Tanaka.
"We've scouted him a lot, we're very much aware of him," Ned Colletti said at his season-ending press conference. "We saw him as recently as two days ago."
