The Boston Red Sox have held talks with Mike Napoli, Jacoby Ellsbury and Stephen Drew, who all declined qualifying offers, about possible returns.
Boston is also in talks with Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Joel Hanrahan and John McDonald.
"There's real interest. But nothing more than that," Ben Cherington said. "We've had conversations. ... There's real interest at different levels in all six of them."
The Red Sox have had more extensive talks with Napoli about a new contract, according to Major League sources.
"We absolutely have an interest in having him back," Cherington said.
