The Kansas City Royals would love to sign Carlos Beltran this winter, but they believe they'll be outbid by teams like the New York Yankees.
Beltran, who is believed to be looking for a multi-year deal, began his career with Kansas City.
He played seven seasons with the Royals and won the 1998 Rookie of the Year with the franchise.
