The Kansas City Royals are willing to surrender a first-round draft pick in order to sign an impact free agent.
"It's part of the evaluation process," Dayton Moore said, "but if a player really makes sense and can help us win, we're not going to be overly concerned with that."
That decision keeps Kansas City alive in the races for sluggers like Carlos Beltran, Curtis Granderson and Nelson Cruz.
