Source: Drew Won't Re-Sign With Red Sox

Stephen Drew will not return to the Boston Red Sox because there are a number of teams wiling to make multiyear offers beyond anything the World Series champions would do, according to a source.

"Obviously, if you want to win, and you want a middle-of-the-diamond player -- and a lot of really, really good teams need upgrades in the middle of the diamond -- he's got a very active, very large market," agent Scott Boras said of Drew.

The shortstop made $9.5 million this past season and rejected Boston's one-year, $14.1 million qualifying offer earlier this week.
