The Boston Red Sox will not have their trademark beards when the 2014 season begins.
"The beard's coming off," Gomes said. "Oh, yeah."
Shortly after the World Series, David Ortiz and Shane Victorino shaved theirs at a charity event.
"The baseball season is not like a cookie cutter," Gomes said. "You can't win last year. I mean, it's a clean slate, you know. You've got to highlight the good, bad and in-between."
