Sandy Alderson says the New York Mets do not have a "goal" of having Matt Harvey appear in the Major Leagues this season.
Harvey has expressed a desire to pitch in 2014 and while the Mets haven't completely ruled that out, they aren't pushing for it. The right-hander underwent Tommy John surgery on Oct. 22 and there is typically a 12-month rehabilitation period.
"Each of these injuries is different," Alderson said. "Each player is different. The return time can be very different. But that's not our goal."
