Angels Lower Right-Field Wall At Angel Stadium By 10 Feet

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Feb 22, 2018 1:20 pm

There is expected to be an increase in home runs to right-center at Angels Stadium this season.

The Los Angeles Angels have announced that the right-center wall will be lowered from 18 feet to eight feet before the season begins.

There were 202 home runs in Angel Stadium last season, ranking 19th in the Major Leagues. Only 70 of those home runs came from left-handed hitters.

Japanese import Shohei Ohtani hits left-handed and smacked 30 home runs in 525 at-bats the last two seasons in Japan's NPB.

This reminds me of when SF built their new stadium with the right field foul pole being only 309 ft from home plate. For awhile I thought was the lamest part of any stadium in the country. Seemed way too specifically designed for one single player to exploit...they had Barry Bonds....

Looks like the Not-in-Los-Angeles Angels of Anaheim are trying to create the same result with Shohei Ohtani.....should be interesting.
