MLB Announces Rules Changes For 2020 Season

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Feb 14, 2020 12:38 pm

Major League Baseball has announced a number of rule changes that will be in effect starting with the 2020 season.

  • Pitchers must now face a minimum of three batters or complete the half-inning in question before being removed from the game.
  • Each team\'s active roster will expand from 25 to 26 spots for the 2020 season, and teams may now carry no more than 13 pitchers on the active roster at any given time.
  • Clubs may not reinstate pitchers or two-way players from the injured list until 15 days have elapsed from the date of the initial roster move.
  • Under the old rules, managers had 30 seconds to decide whether to challenge a call on the field. Now that time limit has been reduced to 20 seconds.

Bring on the pitch clock and robot umps. I'm all for the 3-batter rule, but let's really make some changes.

I think requiring a relief pitcher to finish the ending is pretty critical..

Not that I watch her tremendous amount of baseball. Im usually waiting for the postseason, but I can't tell you how many games have quit on in late innings Because of the second pitcher change in the inning and I just started channel surfing to kill time and never came back to finish watching The game.

this will help

The 3 batter rule is a pretty big change to the history of the game. Eliminates tactics.
But I do get games are too long and remember when I used to watch baseball that I got frustrated when a pitcher came in for one batter and then left. Commercials commercials and more commercials

I wonder if the lack of commercials now between pitching changes will actual have an impact on revenue.

As it was posted- commercial, commercial, more commercials. I can’t see that being the case with a guy now having to stick for an entire inning.
